Turan Research Center

Joseph Shumunov is a Research Associate at the Turan Center as well as a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Topchubashov Center. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international relations at the University of Chicago and recently graduated magna cum laude from Kalamazoo College. Joseph specializes in Eurasia and the Middle East, with a particular focus on Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus. He is fluent in Russian and Arabic and also speaks Hebrew and Azerbaijani.
